Why Modelling?

Modelling is not a bad career, it can be a decent one depending on how one handles it. But I won't directly encourage someone to go fully into modelling or any related career. Because at this point in our generation, women are gradually losing their value. Am not generalizing but the truth is there are very few virtuous women out there who are willing to make the mark. The likes of Mary Slessor, Florence Nightingale, Mother Theresa etc or people who can do more are no where to be found. Most ladies want to become either Make-up Artists, Models, Fashion Stylists etc. Am not saying its bad, but God has a need which he has also created us to solve. Everyone mustn't be a preacher but there are careers worth pursuing to add value to womanhood. Any career that will involve you reaching out to people directly or indirectly is worth it. I won't say study Medicine, Engineering or so. Career is all about passion and choice but the truth is, women are loosing their place in our society and this hurts me personally. Men don't even appreciate beautiful women again: they assume it's all make up. Men don't value relationships again: they feel the only thing women have to offer is sex. Men don't take marriage to heart: they feel women are just there for the money. The truth is not every man has the ability to see greatness or virtue in a woman. Most men are moved by what they physically see, and the only way to convince the world that you stand for uniqueness and virtue is by the right life you have decided to live. Incidentally, I was given a research to do in my school on photo modelling and I discovered that as a woman, for your photos to sell, it has to be appealing. And decently dressed up women are not very appealing relative to our kind of modeling. I am not condemning modelling or any related career. Neither am I saying you should stop taking beautiful pictures or look good: I love pictures and looking good. Yes, you can still have a decent life as a model. But I want to open up our eyes to more possibilities and responsibilities that lies ahead of the future. I encourage you to become that lady with purpose that will still touch lives together with whatever career you have decided to do. Our world today needs women who can live life worthy of their calling. Women who can be leaders, who can take care of homes. Who can become mothers and not just married women with children. Who can invent, innovate and create things. Women whose voices can be heard. Am not a woman but we women have the potentials to achieve more, then why settle for less? Mary Slessor, single handedly stopped killing of twins and that incident alone has saved a large number of my family members. Become that woman that will be an asset to the society and to the world at large. Discover yourself, find purpose, your potentials, your life work, your role, be less of a feminist, add value to your life, achieve success and attain greatness. At that point, you'll turn out to be a model to so many persons. I'll end with this: The Scottish Clydesdale Bank honoured Mary Slessor's memory by having her image on the £10 note. Her picture is now on the currency everyone uses everyday, for me: that's the peak of modeling ! Become a Role Model and not just a Model. Become a Lady With Purpose.
